Writing Project Status Update

So, I figured I'd give a brief little update on the status of things and of upcoming things, and my schedule for those things.

the rest of October:
I'm going to try and finish up the last chunk of that Skigraphia chapter. It's the shortest (meaning like 10k) so I think this is feasible. Then it'll go to beta, be combined with the other chunk I already posted, and go up on fictionpress.

Also, will be doing lots of NaNo plotting.

November:
NaNoWriMo! I'm going to be retackling the sequel to Polaris Breach that I failed at in 2012, and attempting to post it chronologically as I go (meaning a super rough chapter goes up every few days). Now that I have a 40 hour work week (more like 60 with the commute factored in) I have no idea how feasible THAT aspect will be, but I will try. Also, it will be locked to LJ/DW only, just like the first book is.

Won't be working on ANYTHING else this month.

December:
Pretty much assuming NaNo will trickle into December to finish it up.

December is also when I'll start tackling the Pretty Shade of Grey rewrites/clean-ups. I say rewrites but I'm not really rewriting it so much as giving it a super polish, cutting things, fixing continuity errors, basically revamping the first 4 chapters that were written ALMOST TEN YEARS AGO and are awful.

This in preparation for...

2014~!

2014 will actually mark the 10th year I've been writing and sharing m/m fiction online. Technically the first story I ever put up was Christian Faith, but since that died died died and is fittingly dead and buried forever, Pretty Shade of Grey is my oldest story. It's the only story I currently have that I'm considering an attempt at 'traditional' publishing with (and that still only means an online specifically m/m or romance oriented publisher, like Dreamspinner or Samhain) and I figure that the 10 year mark might as well be when I honestly start to try! Which is why the rewrites/edits and such. It's also getting a new name, because I was unhappy with the title pre-Fifty Shades of Grey anyway, but now I REALLY hate it.

Status of other things:

Tenebrism: Obviously on hold until after NaNo, but I'm still trucking along on it.

Broken Guns/Ex Legis: Kind of on hold. Only 3 chapters left but it's a very low priority since it has a low readership and nobody bugs me about it. It WILL get finished, probably next year some time. There's also a sequel to it, and the original story it spun off of.

His Password is Also Derek: OH LOL. I don't even know. I stopped working on it when I got a job. I'll finish it....eventually.

High School AU: Another thing I'm going to seriously work on for 2014!Publishing!Year! This one I'm thinking about putting up on Smashwords or something for super cheap or free.

Holiday Series: Another 2014!Publishing!Year project. Also another candidate for Smashwords. The stories need some polishing, continuity fixes, a few extra scenes in some of them I didn't have the time to write because of trying to meet the deadline for a specific holiday. Also there'd be a bonus story added in that wouldn't be posted anywhere else.

And that's what's going on in the near future!

(This was originally posted on my LJ/DW but I figured it'd be useful to copy over here as well)

An Experiment

I hooked up my blogger account to my Goodreads blog thing, so that entries in the former will show up in the latter. I'm not on Goodreads much (read, never) and so this will be a way I can talk about updates and things without actually being on Goodreads. Because I talk a lot about updates and things, but mostly on LJ and tumblr, where people who are on Goodreads often aren't following me. So this can be a way to keep my Goodreads account looking more active! Especially with half of my stories being either incomplete or in rewrites; people can at least know they're not abandoned.

And I can make updates such as this:

I am for sure working on Tenebrism! I know it might look abandoned, but it's definitely not.
